True Hardcore 2 (2008) Album Description
GTV presents the long awaited True Hardcore 2. 56 of the freshest hardcore tracks featuring some exclusive remixes ("Every Heartbeat", "Disco's Revenge") and the toughest sounds to fill the dancefloor. This album features the True Hardcore DJs, and is hosted by MC Storm & Whizzkid.

This allows seeing her costume and body; however it is covered with the ‘TRUE HARDCORE 2’ logo. This is common for most ‘DANCE/HARDCORE’ albums covers.
Colour: The colours are very vibrant with the neon purple and blues with a bright luminous effect which helps set the mood by portraying a rave scene for its stock setting. The colours are very vibrant which is another common conventions for a hardcore album cover. This creates a happy, exciting meaning towards the album aswell as presenting the genre of music.
Mode of Address: As a product, this gives a direct mode of address and makes the audience gain a connection towards the model by applying emotion towards her facial gesture. Its audience will be attracted to the cover and will more likely to buy it if they feel connected.
Image:The image on the front cover is very dramatic. The colours have a huge part with the image as it helps create meaning to the picture. The image for the front cover is a typical representation of the genre music ‘HARDCORE/DANCE’. This due to the fact of the costume the model is wearing.
Gesture and Body Language: The body language is positioned in a dance pose, presenting the hardcore genre by this specific pose, which represents their dance style. The gesture on the models face is very seductive with the pouting of the lips and seductive eyes. This helps attracts the audience into buying this album cover.
Framing: framing seems to very tight with the medium long shot. The model is dominating the frame which challenges gender by having her seem controlling in a tight frame
Representation: This album represents gender. This image reinforces stereotypes of woman. Women are usually portrayed in the media and have to stay at home and look after the children. Having the model being seductive and rebellious with the hair lose and body free connotes a modern representation on woman. This image represents strong powerful woman, which helps engage is audience as well as attracting individuals to reflect into her behaviour. The model is very attractive with her long black hair and pretty features, which help sell this and attract its target audience. The model represents the typical female gender, by showing her flesh and being attractive in a sexual way. This is trying to help promote the CD by attracting its consumer. The front cover seems to be representing the ‘setting’ with smashing glass effect, which could connote that this album is something new and smashing and explosive. This really helps attract it intended audience because it creates feeling that this album is for the harder music fans.
Setting: The setting isn’t shown, however by the way the model is positioned, it could be portraying a club scene by her body language and costume.
Costume: This a typical representation of a hardcore raver with tight, bright bikini club-wear with fluffy hand bands and fluffy boots.
Title/ font: The font for ‘TRUE HARDCORE’ is very big and bold. There seems to be a pattern of capital letters and non capital letters in the title.
Target Audience: It is clear who the intended audience are by the entire image. This is a representation of hardcore raver. Her costume and pose and style help show this.
Blurb: On the bottom, it displays who the album is mixed by: SY & UNKNOWN, DOUGAL & GAMMER, SUPREME &SUNSET. This helps promote this album because it’s grabbing attention by displaying the top hardcore DJs. The cover also show who it features on the disk, aswell as using positive adjectives ‘ massive’ to make the album sound huge and exciting.
